Saturday 6th October 2012

We had planned on keeping the weekends free due to the thought of any tourist places being overloaded on each of these days. It turns out they really aren't that much busier than any other day of the week down there. In QLD, the weekends are always far busier.

I was tired of being trapped in the apartment with a whole big world of things to discover at my finger tips. After the day before, bro wasn't interested in doing more walking, so I decided to take the ferry over to Meadowbank to go to Aldi and the chemist. It was a good outing on my own and helped to boost my confidence. Anyone who truly knows me, knows it's very out of character for me to do such a thing, especially in a city I don't know.

Later that afternoon we prepared for the Cherry Bar and took the ferry over to Pyrmont wharf. It was an extremely windy night and I was only wearing my blue cocktail dress with a light 3/4 sleeve shrug. Frig, was I freezing my nuts off!

I had my 3rd cocktail (Cherry Flipper) at the Cherry Bar and was totally wasted due to the mega strength. Like I said before, I'm a cheap drunk - a couple of mouthfuls and it honestly goes straight to my head. Only this drink was stronger than any drink I have ever had before, which ended up affecting my sight for a little bit.
After allowing it to wear off (I would have embarrassed myself to try walking any sooner) while bro went for a second drink, we moved onto the sister bar - Rock Lily where we both enjoyed another drink. It was a Cookie Monster for me.

I was a couple of degrees off turning into a cocktail icicle while waiting at the exposed ferry wharf. It was far too cold to stand out the front of the ferry with the icy breeze off the water.
Unfortunately, the buses there finish their route just after 7pm, so it was a lengthy walk back to the apartment in the cold.

Again I forgot to take the camera. I shall be better prepared next visit! Perhaps even take a smaller camera so it's more portable.
