The morning started off fairly early as bro had a ticket to the EB games expo being held at Sydney Olympic Park. We caught a taxi down and it was originally the plan for me to wander around looking for the DFO mall to purchase a boomerang or body pillow. Not knowing the area, I walked and walked around the wrong section of Olympic Park before I headed in the right direction. I found an information centre where an unfriendly worker showed me a map and the direction to go. Bloody hell, I didn't realise it was absolutely miles away, but decided to tackle it anyway.
The day was the hottest since we had arrived and I was soaking in sweat by the time I made it there. I hadn't realised it at the time, but my so called leather handbag/backpack had rubbed against my sweaty back and put a permanant black mark on my white singlet. NOT happy!
Apart from the exercise, it was a complete waste of time ..... no shape pillows that I was after. After buying a drink, I started the long hike back. The thought of the Cold Rock ice-cream I planned to get when back in the centre of the Park, was what kept me going. Good thing I'd never tried it before...lol.
Unfortunately, the ice-cream was expensive and the one I went for wasn't all that grand.
Bro happened to call me just as I finished up and was about to walk the 2.1kms back to the apartment. We both ended up catching a taxi back due to the extreme heat, or what we thought was extreme.
The rest of the afternoon was spent recovering. There was a suggestion thrown around about heading out to the Cherry Bar at Star Casino, but it didn't leave enough time to get ready, catch the ferry and be back early enough before the last ferry returns.
One of the worst things that could happen, happened today. My shitty Motorola Defy mobile decided to have a meltdown. When I called Motorola, I was told I'd have to send it back to be repaired because it's under a year old. Fabulous, so while on holidays I'm phone-less.
Turned out I walked over 5kms just in the Olympic Park region. I never imagined that the Park truly was that massive. I guess if I really stopped to think about how much land the olympic games actually takes up, it would have been obvious!
I don't have any pictures for this post as I stupidly didn't take my camera with me this day........
